It took a while to get to me since several items in the order were back ordered, but someone from etrailer regularly communicated the status. All items arrived in good condition, but I haven’t had time to install.

by:

Works as advertised.

by:

Was larger gauge than I needed but worked just fine. This 10 gauge wire is blue but my stock wiring was about 14 gauge but since the used a circuit breaker to cross connect it was not a problem.

by:

Wire was just what I needed to add the battery charger wiring to the 6 pin receptacle for the TOAD vehicle.

by:

Excellent brake controller. etrailer was prompt in shipping and service outstanding. Would definitely buy from etrailer again.

This brake controller is working great. Would recommend it Easily adjustable for driving conditions

by:

Couldn't be happier. Bought a couple of 4 to 7 way adapters, some 10 gauge wire and a couple of 40a breakers. Recommendations from etrailer were thorough and well done.
All installed on both vehicles ... both working just great.

by:

Ordered a pair of Dexter electric brake kits for my trailer. Everything arrived within a few (3) days in good shape. Installed on the trailer, everything works as advertised. I have ordered from etrailer several times over the past few years. Always great service and prices. Customer service and tech assist is especially good with these folks. I would send pictures but the trailer is out working.

by:

Fast delivery - Ordered on 9/29/17 - Received on 10/4/17
Excellent heavy gauge wire!
NOTE for etrailer managers. I am a technical person by nature and speaking only for myself, when I buy and pay for a specific amount of something, I expect to get that amount. I'm not pinching pennies with you here; BUT, I bought 30' of this wire and when I received it, I measured it twice and came up with 29' 9". Most places I've dealt with in the past where I buy wire, angle iron, etc.. would give you a couple of inches or more than you ordered versus a couple of inches shorter than what was ordered. Very stingy in my opinion and not fair to your customers.

by:

Good price, and just what I needed for carrying the heavier loads needed for charging the trailers on board battery, and running the refrigerator/freezer.

by:

Order accurately filled, (I even called back to add some items). The order even came more quickly than I expected. Quality of the parts appears to be excellent!

Thank you!

Michael

Working fine. No problems.

by:

The wiring harness set is flawless and the installation went smooth, even for this less than electrically inclined guy. A couple hours or work and I was on the road towing with confidence

by:

The wire itself seems okay, although the packaging wasn't great. Ordered 75 feet of wire along with a coupler. The wire was coiled in the bottom of the box, with the coupler sitting on top of it in direct contact. I noticed some nicks in the wire insulation as a result of the coupler edges hitting it during shipping.

eTrailer did a great job of shipping quickly! Order packaging needs some serious attention.

by:

Exactly as described!

by:

ettrailer was extremely helpful with adding brakes to my utility trailer. This wire was just one component in the upgrade. Thank you etrailer. I would definitely recommend them.

by:

Very happy with the wiring. Works well, easy install. less memory then I expected. Nice having power from my tow vehicle to my trailer.

by:

Nice thick sturdy wire, I used it to run 12v power supply from battery to circuit breaker then to to 7 way plug.

by:

This served its purpose for installing a trailer battery charge line. It was nice that I could order a specific length from retailer since I didn't need a whole roll.

by:

Ordered several electrical connectors, wire and a wire tester .. all items came in good condition ,looking forward to using the tester as soon as I can I am sure it will do the job.

by:

The wire was perfect for the application (electric trailer brakes). The sales person, William, who helped me, was most helpful.

by:

Exactly what I needed to re-wire my trailer. Fast shipping and good price.

by:

It's been a long while since I've ordered anything from etrailer, but, as usual, you folks came through in flying colors. The package was boxed well, shipped on time and the correct products, that's a real plus in today's internet shopping zone.

by:

Great service as always!! Fast delivery! Etrailer has it all covered with product and install information, they make it easy!!

by:

Product arrived as promised and everything works great. The staff at etrailer I worked with was fantastic. Thanks, Brian

by:

Great cable. Heavy gauge for almost any trailer accessory.

by:

Everything is as expected! Top quality and rapid delivery. If You need trailer products this is the place!

  • Recommended Parts Needed To Add Electric Brakes To Utility Trailer
The axles we offer that have a span of 72 inches have either 2,000 lb or 2,200 lb weight capacities. None of our 72 inch axles have the brake mounting flange attached, and all of them have idler hubs, meaning there are no provisions for brakes as there are no drums. To convert the system you currently have and use a 72 inch axle could prove to be quite an extensive task. I recommend going with an axle-less system like part # A35RD545E. This system replaces the axle and leaf spring system...

  • Part Recommendations to Install a Brake Controller in a 2012 Kia Sorento with 4-Way
Since you have the Hopkins 4 way to 7 Way adapter part # 37185 you will only need a few more components to complete a brake controller install on your 2012 Kia Sorento that has a 4-way installed currently. First let's start with a brake controller. I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. Next, to wire up the brake controller you will want to run a section of 10 gauge...

  • Brake Controller And Brakes Recommendations For 2010 Kia Sedona And Trailer
Thank you for the spec sheet on the axle you have on your trailer. I spoke with my contact at Dexter and they told me that you do not need to replace your axle, you can just upgrade the one you have. They told me that you have the brake mounting flange mounted on your axle so what you will want to do is add a new hub and drum, the brakes, and wiring for your trailer, and you should be good to go. The hub and drum I recommend is the etrailer.com Trailer Hub Assembly, part # AKHD-545-35-G-K....

  • Recommended Trailer Brake Controller for a 2007 BMW X3 with Factory Trailer Hitch and Wiring
If your 2007 BMW X3 has a factory 7-way trailer connector and you want to install a brake controller like the Prodigy P3 # 90195 you'll just need to hard wire the controller in. To do so the black wire from the P3 will be connected to the BMW's battery through a circuit breaker and the white wire needs to be grounded. You can use our # 5506 kit to make the connections. The blue wire from the controller is connected to the brake circuit that runs back to the 7-way which you can use #...

  • Parts Needed to Add a 7-Way to a 2003 Ford Ranger FX4 for Camper Power
Since your 2003 Ford Ranger has a 4-way you are going to need a 4 Pole to 7 Pole Adapter part # 37185. This will give you 7-way at the rear of your vehicle. You will only need to make two additional connections for this to work for what you are doing. You will need to run the black wire to the positive side of your vehicle battery through a 40 amp fuse like the part # 9510. I would recommend you use 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 (sold by the foot) to make this connection. This will...

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Not Connected with New Brake Controller and Harness on 2011 Ford F-150
The Prodigy P3 controller # 90195 is an absolute favorite. The fact that when you hit the manual override, your brake lights on your vehicle are working definitely helps. The issue is with the brake output wire somewhere between your controller and the trailer brakes because when it reads a power draw on that wire, it will read on the screen as trailer connected. To determine where the short or connection issue is, I recommend you use a circuit tester with an incandescent light like...

The Tekonsha Primus IQ # TK90160 should definitely not be sending a signal until your brake pedal is pressed. One possibility is that the Black wire and the Red wire on the brake controller were installed to the opposite functions. Be sure to check that the controller was installed correctly. The next thing that you will want to do is to check the connector on both your 2010 Chevrolet Suburban and your trailer. Make sure that they are clean and free or debris or corrosion. If they look...

  • Brake Controller Only Outputs 3.4 Volts With Controller Set to Max
If you are testing the connector on your truck with the brake controller set to it highest setting and using the manual override then there is definitely a problem if you are only getting 3.4V. You will want to start off by inspecting the connector on your truck. Look for any white or green looking residue as that can be corrosion. If that looks good then you will want to sever the Blue wire about 6 inches away from your brake controller and test it. If you are getting 12V at that point...

  • Brake Controller Recommendation for 2008 BMW X3
The P3 # 90195 is a fantastic brake controller. I would recommend it highly for you on your vehicle. The Prodigy RF part # TK94FR is a great controller too though which would be easier to wire up so that's a great option too. Sounds like this is the route you'd prefer. What you need to install it is a 7-way with the lighting functions working plus a 12 volt power circuit. For that you'd need to start with a 4-way like part # 119250KIT that you mentioned plus a 7-way adapter part # 37185....

The part # 30717 would be exactly what you would need. It would plug into your 4-way to activate it's 7-way taillight circuits. Then to activate the 12 volt power circuit all you need is 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 ran through a circuit breaker like part # 9510 and you'd be set.

  • Is the Prodigy P3 Brake Controller Compatible with the HydraStar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator
The Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 is actually one of the best options to use with an EOH setup. You should not have any problems using it with the HydraStar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator # HBA-10 when it is set to EOH mode. Since you tested it with another vehicle and your trailer brakes worked just fine it leads me to believe that the wiring on your 2012 Silverado is messed up somewhere. The 12 Volt auxiliary terminal on your 7-way connector can be used to keep the battery on your trailer charged. You will need to run a 10 gauge power wire like # 10-1-1 from the 12 volt auxiliary terminal on the 7-Way trailer connector on the trailer to the positive terminal on the trailer battery and ground the negative terminal of the trailer battery to the trailer frame. • Adding a 7-Way Trailer Connector to a 2005 Dodge Ram with Factory 4-Way
It sounds like the previous owner of your 2005 Dodge Ram did most of the hard work for you. My recommendation is to simplify things. We should start at the 7-Way with hardwiring the remaining wires. First, ground the white wire to the truck frame. that should leave 3 wires to connect. One of them is for the 12 volt power circuit, one is for output to the trailer brakes, and one is for reverse lights or auxiliary power. The rest of the installation will require a little hardwiring since trailers towed by passenger vehicles normally have combined stop and turn signals. If you want to run a 12-volt accessory power circuit, you can run it from the positive battery terminal to the 7-way. Your truck MIGHT have a 12-volt accessory wire ran already...you'd just need to make the connections on each end. Look on the driver's side frame rail at the rear of the truck. Since you have 2,200 lb axles the correct assemblies you'd need are the part # K23-103-00 for the left hand side and part # K23-104-00 for the right hand side.
